Bathroom Remodeling Process
The process of bathroom remodeling typically involves several steps, including the design phase, the demolition and removal of existing fixtures and features, the installation of new fixtures and features, and the finishing and decorating of the space. We work with you to design your bathroom and work with contractors who ensure a seamless and efficient renovation process.
This is an abbreviated list of the remodeling process
1) Design Phase
We work with the customer to determine their needs, preferences, and budget. We will consider the bathroom's size, layout, customer style, and desired functionality. We may provide computer-aided design (CAD) drawings which include information about the demolition, revised floor plan, plumbing, and electrical plans when needed.
2) Demolition and Removal of the Existing Improvements
The next step is the demolition and removal of existing fixtures and features. This may include removing old tiles, countertops, toilets, shower stalls, and other fixtures. We will also disconnect and remove existing plumbing lines, which will be replaced with new plumbing supply lines and drain lines. This step may also include the demolition of drywall and framing as necessary.
3) Framing and Rough-In
We use licensed contractors for all the required rough-in work for the plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. Wall framing repairs may be needed, and typically additional backing is provided for the new fixtures such as the tub or shower surround and the vanity. The new tub or shower surround is installed at this time. Building inspections are provided throughout and at the end of the project as required by the local municipality.
4) Drywall, Painting, and Flooring
The drywall is installed, and the walls may be textured as the customer desires. The walls will be painted and the flooring can be installed.
5) Toilet and Vanity
After the finishes listed above are complete the permanent toilet can be set. The original toilet is re-set each day, so the customer does not go without the use of a functioning toilet. The vanity cabinet and vanity top can also be installed.
6) Finish Plumbing and Electrical
Once the vanity is installed the plumber will finish their work installing the faucets and finish drain items. The electrician can install the light fixtures, fan cover, and outlet & switch cover plates.
7) Finish Carpentry Items
At the final phase, the shower doors can be installed if this is part of the project. Towel bars and other wall accessories are installed. Finish trim door casing and base may be installed. A mirror or medicine cabinet may be installed if these are part of the décor.
